Nothin's Easy Racing Takes 1st at Show & Go

For the first time in the impressive 12-year career of Nothin's Easy Racing, the Federal Premium/CarTunes sponsored '71 Chevelle came out of the 23rd Annual Show & Go weekend with the 1st place trophy. Owners Randy & Norma Wourms, driver Eric Wourms, and the entire Federal Premium/CarTunes crew sported nothing but smiles as Eric, the Cohasset, MN native, crossed the line on his final pass of the weekend with the win.

Other than an issue with the nitrous ignition switch on one pass made during the weekend, the Federal Premium/CarTunes Outlaw ran on rails. Wourms' speeds were comparable or better than previous record runs made by the drag car, setting new records with nearly every pass in the eliminations.

Posting a second place qualifying effort of 7.38 seconds in the quarter over the two-day sessions, Nothin's Easy Racing headed into Sunday's elimination rounds with high confidence. The top qualifier of the event (7.25 seconds) had a slight mistake in the second round of eliminations, disqualifying himself on a red light as he left the line too early, opening the door for the N.E.R. team to roll on to the first win with the Federal Premium sponsored machine.

With a title-capturing time of 7.41 at 184 miles per hour in the final round of the event, the excitement ran over for the N.E.R. crew, with high-fives and hand shakes all around.
